Amritsar Police Uncover Elaborate Conspiracy Involving Staged Attack
In a startling revelation, the Amritsar police have exposed a meticulously planned conspiracy in which the husband of a municipal councillor allegedly orchestrated an attack on his own residence. The incident, which initially appeared as a violent assault, has now been revealed as a fabricated scheme designed to falsely implicate a youth who married his niece against the family's wishes.
Five Arrests Made in Connection with the Case
Police authorities have confirmed the arrest of five individuals directly involved in this elaborate plot. The investigation, led by Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, uncovered the truth behind what was initially reported as a criminal attack.
The initial complaint filed by Inderjit Singh, also known as Bobby, claimed that around 12:30 AM on March 7, unidentified persons fired shots into the air and attacked the gate of his house using sharp-edged weapons known as datars. Singh, a resident of Faizpura in Amritsar and husband of Ward No. 7 Councillor Kajal, had filed this complaint at the Majitha Road police station.
Investigation Reveals Fabricated Complaint
Police Commissioner Bhullar explained that due to the sensitive nature of the allegations, a thorough investigation was immediately launched. "During our detailed probe, we discovered that the complaint itself was completely fabricated," Bhullar stated during a press briefing.
The investigation revealed that Inderjit Singh had conspired with his nephew and other associates to stage the entire incident. According to police findings:
- The gunshots were fired by Singh's own associates
- The damage to the house gate was deliberately inflicted by the conspirators
- The entire attack was carefully planned and executed

Police authorities have identified the primary motivation behind this elaborate scheme as revenge against a youth who married Singh's niece without obtaining family consent. "The attack was deliberately staged so that the person who married his niece and his relatives could be falsely implicated in a criminal case," Commissioner Bhullar clarified.
