Amritsar Police Uncover Pakistan ISI-Backed Terror Conspiracy

In a significant security breakthrough, the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar has successfully thwarted a terror plot allegedly backed by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Authorities recovered a sophisticated improvised explosive device (IED) based on RDX and apprehended one suspect from the region.

Details of the Foiled Terror Operation

According to official statements, the SSOC Amritsar unit acted on intelligence to intercept the terror plan. The explosive device was meticulously concealed within a PVC pipe casing, a tactic specifically designed to evade standard security detection methods during transportation or placement.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed the operation's success through a social media post on platform X. He stated that preliminary investigations have revealed the arrested individual was in direct communication with a foreign-based handler. This handler is believed to be operating under explicit instructions from Pakistan-based operatives linked to the ISI.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation

Following the arrest and seizure, a First Information Report (FIR) has been officially registered at Police Station SSOC, Amritsar. The case has been filed under stringent sections of the Explosive Substances Act, the Arms Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

"The primary focus is now on uncovering the complete terror network involved in this plot," a senior police official noted. Investigators are working to trace all connections, identify additional conspirators, and understand the full scope of the intended target and methodology.

This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges along the border region and highlights the vigilance of Punjab's specialized police units in preempting potential threats to national security.
