A shocking case of sexual abuse has emerged from Sri Sathya Sai district in Andhra Pradesh, where a 14-year-old girl has accused her foster father and his brother-in-law of repeatedly assaulting her. The crime came to light only after a medical examination revealed the minor was pregnant.
Abuse Uncovered After Medical Emergency
The horrific ordeal surfaced on Sunday when the girl fell ill and was taken to a hospital. During the medical check-up, doctors confirmed she was pregnant. This discovery prompted her foster mother to approach the Dharmavaram police.
Initially, the foster mother suspected her younger brother was involved. However, when Dharmavaram DSP Hemant Kumar recorded the victim's statement at the hospital, she named two different perpetrators: her foster father and his brother-in-law.
A Life of Betrayal and Threats
According to police, the couple had taken the child home from the Boyakonda Gangamma temple area in Chittoor district 14 years ago and raised her as their own daughter. The situation turned traumatic as the girl entered adolescence.
The foster father allegedly began sexually abusing her and later involved his brother-in-law in the assaults. The terrified minor did not confide in her foster mother because both accused had threatened to kill her if she spoke out about the abuse.
Police Launch Manhunt for Accused
Based on the girl's detailed testimony, police have registered a case under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Officials confirmed that the accused men fled the area after learning that the crime had been exposed.
A search operation has been launched to trace and arrest the foster father and his brother-in-law. The case has sent shockwaves through the Dharmavaram community, highlighting the vulnerabilities of children in foster care and the severe consequences of such predatory crimes.
