Armed Robbers Strike Jewellery Store in Vaishali, Escape with Rs 11 Lakh Loot
In a brazen daylight robbery, three bike-borne miscreants targeted a jewellery store in the bustling Jathkauli market under the town police station area of Vaishali district on Thursday evening. The armed assailants made off with a substantial haul of gold and silver ornaments, along with cash, collectively valued at approximately Rs 11 lakh.
Hostage Situation and Swift Looting
According to store owner Sanjay Kumar, the terrifying incident unfolded around 4:15 PM. The robbers, brandishing firearms, entered the premises and immediately took control of the situation. "They held us hostage at gunpoint and systematically looted the store, seizing valuable jewellery and Rs 22,000 in cash," Kumar recounted, highlighting the traumatic experience faced by him and others present.
Police Response and Investigation Launched
Law enforcement authorities responded promptly to the distress call. Senior officials, including Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gopal Mandal, visited the crime scene to oversee the initial investigation. "We are actively reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify the culprits and trace their escape route," Mandal stated, emphasizing the use of technology in the probe.
The police have assured the public that all necessary efforts are being mobilized to apprehend the miscreants and recover the stolen valuables. The investigation is focused on:

- Gathering eyewitness accounts from the market area.
- Coordinating with neighboring police stations to track the suspects' movements.
