A man arrested under the Arms Act escaped from the district hospital in Khargone on Saturday, police said.
Details of the Escape
The accused, identified as Nawal Singh, was taken to the district hospital for a medical examination under the escort of two constables. Another person brought on a warrant was also accompanying the police team at the time.
According to Khargone Kotwali police station SHO Banwari Lal Mandloi, Nawal Singh was brought to the hospital along with another accused. His handcuffs were removed for blood sample collection. During this process, one constable went to the laboratory with the sample, while the other was occupied with paperwork for the second accused. Taking advantage of the situation, Nawal Singh managed to flee.
Police Response and Search Operation
Police immediately launched a search operation and formed multiple teams to track him down. Despite extensive efforts, the accused remained untraced until Sunday evening. A detailed report regarding the incident has been submitted to the superintendent of police.
Search teams have been deployed and efforts are ongoing to trace the accused at the earliest, Mandloi added.
