Tanmay Kumar was a Class XII student studying in Patna and had been staying at his native village, Bhatgama, for the past one month while on holiday. According to police reports, the deceased was the son of Army veteran Vinod Kumar Singh, who owns a licensed pistol registered in his name. Upon receiving information about the incident, Chausa SHO Ravi Kumar Paswan reached the spot along with police personnel. The licensed pistol used in the incident was immediately seized by the authorities as part of the investigation.
