An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) attached to the Mumbai Police has been arrested for allegedly molesting an 18-year-old specially abled woman. The alleged molestation took place on Monday, December 23, 2025, around 5:30 PM. The location was the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Bhausaheb Hire Garden, situated near the Tardeo Regional Transport Office (RTO). According to police officials, the accused ASI, who was attached to the Local Arms Division 2 in Tardeo, was sitting with the young woman when he allegedly began misbehaving with her.
People present in the public garden noticed the victim appearing visibly uncomfortable and promptly intervened. When confronted, the accused officer reportedly began arguing with the members of the public. This led to the locals restraining him and immediately informing the police control room. The ASI was then taken to the Tardeo police station and formally handed over for legal action.
