Aurangabad Murder Case: Eight Arrested After Suicide Ruse Uncovered

In a shocking turn of events in Aurangabad, Bihar, eight persons have been apprehended within 48 hours in connection with a death that was initially misreported as a suicide but has now been confirmed as a brutal murder. Among those arrested is the victim's own wife, highlighting a deeply disturbing domestic conspiracy.

From Suicide Report to Murder Investigation

The case unfolded when Deo police station received information on Wednesday regarding the alleged suicide of Ranjit Kumar in Belsara Bhuiya Bigha village. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ambarish Rahul stated that police teams promptly arrived at the scene, conducted preliminary verifications, and recorded statements from nearby residents to gather initial facts.

However, the investigation took a dramatic turn after the deceased's family members submitted a written complaint, prompting the registration of a First Information Report (FIR). Given the serious nature of the allegations, SSP Rahul constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Sadar-II, Madanpur, to conduct a thorough and expedited probe into the circumstances surrounding Ranjit's death.

SIT Unravels a Family Conspiracy

The SIT's investigation quickly revealed that the death was not a suicide but a premeditated murder. Police inquiries uncovered that the deceased, Ranjit, had been embroiled in frequent disputes with his wife, Priyanka Kumari. On the day of the incident, following yet another heated altercation, Priyanka allegedly orchestrated a conspiracy involving her parents, brother, and four other villagers from the community to execute the killing.

According to police findings, the accused individuals collectively assaulted and strangled Ranjit. In a calculated attempt to mislead authorities, they then staged the crime scene to resemble a suicide by hanging his body from a tree in a garden located just outside Belsara village. This elaborate cover-up was initially successful in misleading the preliminary reports.

Arrests and Confessions

The SIT acted swiftly, leading to the arrest of all eight accused involved in the crime. The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Priyanka Kumari (victim's wife)
  • Chandmuni Devi
  • Ganesh Rikiyasan
  • Munna Rikiyasan
  • Shivshankar Paswan
  • Pintu Bhuiya
  • Hareram Bhuiya
  • Kundan Kumar

Police officials reported that all the arrested accused have confessed to their involvement in the murder during interrogation. Following their confessions, they were produced before a local court, which has remanded them to judicial custody as the legal proceedings advance.

This case underscores the critical role of diligent police work and specialized investigative teams in uncovering the truth behind seemingly straightforward incidents, ensuring justice is served for the victim and his family.
