Bahraich Court Delivers 20-Year Sentence in POCSO Case
A special court designated under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in Bahraich has handed down a significant verdict, sentencing a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for committing unnatural sexual assault on a minor. The judgment was pronounced on Friday by Special Judge (POCSO) Arvind Gautam, who found the accused, identified as Kishan, guilty based on compelling evidence presented during the trial.

The case originated two years ago when a resident of the Rupaidiha police station area filed a formal complaint alleging that Kishan had sexually assaulted his minor son. Upon receiving the complaint, local police promptly registered a case under the relevant sections of the POCSO Act and initiated a thorough investigation. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
Special Public Prosecutor Sant Pratap Singh played a crucial role in presenting the prosecution's case, ensuring that all evidence was meticulously examined in court.
