Murder Accused on Bail Fatally Stabbed in Jaunpur; Police Arrest Two Suspects in Dramatic Firefight
In a shocking incident in the Jalalpur area of Jaunpur district, a murder accused who had recently been released from jail on bail was brutally stabbed to death by his rivals on Wednesday evening. The victim, identified as Ashish Chauhan, was attacked at a country liquor shop, leading to immediate police action that culminated in a late-night exchange of fire and the arrest of two suspects.
Police Investigation and Swift Action
Upon receiving information about the murder, Jaunpur Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh inspected the incident site early Thursday morning. The investigation quickly provided clues about the location of the two accused involved in Ashish Chauhan's killing. Police teams, led by Jalalpur police station in-charge Gajanand Chaubey, were alerted to the suspects' movements on the Bhaupur-Trilochan Road.
The officers cordoned off the road near Oaina village and attempted to intercept the miscreants, who were riding a motorcycle. In a tense confrontation, the suspects opened fire at the police, prompting the officers to retaliate in self-defense. During the exchange, both miscreants sustained bullet injuries to their legs and were subsequently arrested.

- Multiple cartridges
- A motorcycle used by the accused
- Two knives believed to have been used in the murder of Ashish Chauhan
The injured suspects, identified as Shivshankar Chauhan (26) and Dhananjay Chauhan (20) from Sanghaipur, were rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable under police custody.
