A 26-year-old private bank employee allegedly died by suicide in the Chinhat area of Lucknow, reportedly during a video call with a female friend late Tuesday night. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when friends discovered him hanging inside his rented accommodation.
Details of the Incident
Akarsh Mishra, a resident of Belsar village in Basti district, was employed at a private bank, primarily handling sales and credit card-related services. He lived on rent in Aastha Nagar colony in Matiyari. According to police, Mishra had dinner on Tuesday night and then retired to his room. Later, he and the woman reportedly had an argument during a video call.
According to the family's complaint, Mishra took the extreme step during the call itself. The woman is said to have immediately informed one of Mishra's friends after witnessing the incident on video, prompting them to rush to his residence.
Discovery and Medical Response
The friends eventually broke open the door and found Mishra hanging from the ceiling fan using a dupatta. He was immediately taken down and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Investigation Underway
Mishra's mobile phone has been seized for forensic analysis to verify the sequence of events and communication records. Officials at Chinhat police station stated that further action will be taken based on the complaint filed by the family and findings from the investigation.
Police said all angles, including the alleged dispute and circumstances leading to the suicide, are being thoroughly examined.
