In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Belthangady police on Sunday evening busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from a room inside a canteen on KEB Road in Belthangady Kasba village. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the case.

Accused Identified

The accused have been identified as Sundar Shetty, who was running the canteen, and his associate Usman. According to police officials, the duo was allegedly involved in illegal prostitution activities with the intention of making unlawful profits. They were bringing women to the premises for this purpose.

Raid and Legal Action

The raid was conducted on Sunday evening by a team led by Circle Inspector Ravi B.S. Following the operation, a case has been registered at the Belthangady police station under sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, along with Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
