Second Incident: Fire at Transport Godown

In a separate incident, Hoysala patrolling personnel from Wilson Garden police averted a tragedy after a fire broke out at a transport godown in Sudhamanagar, south Bengaluru, Friday evening. Police said goods worth nearly Rs 1 crore were saved.

The incident occurred around 4:30 pm when residents noticed flames emerging from A-1 Express Transport Godown and alerted helpline Namma 112. Cops from Hoysala-20 and 21, including assistant sub-inspectors Srikantaiah and Altaf Hussain Dakhani, along with police constable Nagappa, found the flames spreading rapidly inside the premises. They arranged for a public water tanker and began firefighting operations even before the arrival of fire and emergency services personnel. They moved a few cars and motorcycles parked nearby, preventing the flames from spreading and causing further damage.
