Bengaluru Flight Bomb Scare: Two Detained in Hoax

Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport was thrown into chaos on Tuesday when a Mangaluru-bound IndiGo flight became the center of a major security alert following a bomb threat. The aircraft, which had already taken off from Bengaluru, was forced to make an emergency return and landing after airport authorities received alarming information about a potential explosive device onboard.

Emergency Protocol Activated

As soon as the threat was received, airport security agencies swung into action, implementing standard emergency protocols. The flight, identified as IndiGo 6E 2369, was immediately directed to return to Bengaluru airport where it made a priority landing around 9:30 PM.

"The aircraft was safely escorted to an isolation bay upon landing," confirmed airport officials. "All standard operating procedures for such security threats were meticulously followed to ensure passenger safety."

Passengers Safely Evacuated

In a carefully coordinated operation, all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Security personnel then conducted a thorough sweep of the entire plane, examining every piece of luggage and checking all compartments for any suspicious items.

After hours of intensive checking by bomb detection and disposal squads, authorities confirmed that no explosive device was found onboard. The threat was declared a hoax, bringing relief to all involved parties.

Two Passengers Detained for Questioning

During the investigation, security agencies identified and detained two passengers who were traveling on the flight. The individuals are currently being interrogated by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and other security agencies to determine their possible involvement in the hoax threat.

While officials haven't revealed specific details about the detained passengers, sources indicate that their behavior and background raised suspicions during the preliminary investigation.

Flight Operations Return to Normal

Following the all-clear declaration, airport operations gradually returned to normal. The incident, however, caused significant disruption to flight schedules and left many passengers stranded for hours.

This incident marks yet another security scare at Indian airports, highlighting the constant vigilance required by security agencies despite the eventual determination of hoax threats. Authorities have reiterated that making false bomb threats is a serious offense punishable under Indian law with severe consequences.
