Bengaluru Central Government Employee Alleges Years of Sexual Abuse and Blackmail
A deeply disturbing case has emerged from Bengaluru, where a 42-year-old central government employee has come forward with harrowing allegations of rape, sexual harassment, physical assault, and extortion against a 51-year-old man. The accused, identified as Kriplani M, allegedly recorded videos of the abuse and used them to blackmail the victim over a period of several years, creating a cycle of terror and exploitation.
Arrest and Judicial Custody Following Detailed Complaint
Based on a formal complaint filed by the victim, a special police team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Pulikeshinagar) CR Geetha swiftly took action, arresting the accused. Kriplani M, a resident of Indiranagar, was subsequently remanded to judicial custody on Saturday, marking a significant step in the ongoing legal proceedings.
Victim's Account: Promises, Abuse, and Forced Relocation
The complainant, who is employed at Kempegowda International Airport, detailed how she initially came into contact with the accused after he promised to marry her. What followed was a nightmare spanning from 2019 to 2023, during which she alleges she was repeatedly raped and assaulted. The sustained harassment became so severe that it forced her to vacate her home in Indiranagar and relocate to Yelahanka in an attempt to escape the torment.
History of Threats and Coercive Tactics by the Accused
Police investigations reveal that the accused has a long history of filing complaints against government officials and police officers, dating back to 2008. He allegedly boasted of connections with senior officers, judges, and public prosecutors, using these claims to threaten the victim and her mother with false criminal cases. In a calculated move to tighten his control, he took possession of her critical personal documents, including her ID, PAN, and Aadhaar cards.
The blackmail scheme was particularly vicious: the accused allegedly recorded private videos of the victim and demanded up to Rs 18 lakh, threatening to release the footage if she refused to comply with his financial demands.
Legal Proceedings and Police Investigation Timeline
The victim filed her official complaint in December 2025 at the Yelahanka police station. The case was registered as a zero FIR to ensure immediate action, and it was later transferred to the Indiranagar police station for further investigation. However, when the accused leveled allegations against officers at the Indiranagar station, the investigation was reassigned to the Pulikeshinagar police to maintain impartiality and thoroughness.
Accused's Attempts to Obstruct Justice and Court Actions
His efforts to evade accountability extended beyond the police investigation. A few months prior, he filed a false habeas corpus petition in the high court through his mother, falsely claiming he was missing. Police successfully traced him to Chennai, where he reportedly assaulted city police personnel. The high court, recognizing the petition as frivolous, imposed a substantial fine of Rs 2 lakh.
Recent Incidents and Additional Charges
During a medical examination at Victoria Hospital on Saturday, the accused allegedly manhandled police personnel, assaulted a sub-inspector, and snatched a mobile phone. This led to a separate case being registered at the VV Puram police station. Due to his non-cooperation with the earlier investigation, he has since been taken back into custody, underscoring the challenges authorities face in dealing with his behavior.
This case highlights critical issues of sexual violence, blackmail, and the abuse of power, with ongoing investigations aimed at delivering justice for the victim.
