Bengaluru: Youth Dies by Suicide Over Rejected Love, Labourer Held for Minor's Rape

In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, a 23-year-old private company employee died by suicide at his residence in Yelahanka New Town on Thursday afternoon. The deceased, identified as Abhishek, was a resident of Tirumalanagar in Yelahanka New Town.

Police recovered a death note written in English from the scene, which shed light on the motive behind the extreme step. Authorities stated, "Abhishek was in love with a girl, but her family opposed their relationship. When she declined to marry him, he took this extreme step."

Based on a complaint filed by Abhishek's younger brother, the police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the matter further.

Labourer Arrested for Raping Minor in West Bengaluru

In a separate and distressing case, a 25-year-old daily wage worker from Bihar was arrested on Thursday on charges of raping an 11-year-old girl in Jnanabharati, located in West Bengaluru. The accused has been identified as Mohammed Munna.

Following a complaint filed by the girl's parents, police booked Munna under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and took him into custody. Police provided details, saying, "According to the girl's mother, she saw her daughter carrying Rs 150 with her on Wednesday night. When questioned, the girl said Munna, after abusing her, handed over the money, asking her not to disclose the matter to anyone."

The investigation is ongoing to ensure justice for the minor victim.

Court Adjourns Order in Murder Case Involving Congress MLA

In other legal news, the special court for elected representatives in the city adjourned to April 15 the orders on a murder case involving Vinay Kulkarni, the Congress MLA from Dharwad Rural. Kulkarni and 20 others have been named for allegedly murdering a BJP zilla panchayat member in Dharwad back in 2016.

The case was investigated and chargesheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the court's decision is now awaited.
