Bengaluru Woman Arrested for Murdering Boyfriend in Gruesome BDSM Role Play Gone Wrong
In a shocking and chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through Bengaluru, a 27-year-old woman has been arrested for the alleged murder of her boyfriend. The gruesome crime unfolded on Tuesday at her residence in northwest Bengaluru, where investigators say she tied him up, blindfolded him, and set him ablaze under the guise of a BDSM role play.
Details of the Alleged Crime
According to police reports, the accused, identified as Prema, and the victim, Kiran, both aged 27, worked together at a mobile service provider store in Rajajinagar. The couple had been in a relationship for nearly two years. Officers suspect that the killing may have been triggered by deep-seated resentment after Kiran reportedly turned down Prema's marriage proposal.
On the day of the incident, Prema allegedly called Kiran to her house in Anjananagar, under the jurisdiction of the Byadarahalli police station, after her family members had left for work. Kiran, who had initially planned to travel to Nelamangala, instead went to meet her.
Investigators stated that Prema offered him what she described as a "surprise" and "a good time." She then blindfolded him and tied his hands and legs with a rope, assuring him it was part of an act. Minutes later, she is suspected to have poured an inflammable liquid, possibly kerosene or petrol, over him and set him on fire. Unable to free himself, Kiran died on the spot.
Investigation and Evidence
Neighbors, alerted by Kiran's screams and thick smoke billowing from the house, immediately informed the authorities. Fire and emergency services rushed to the scene. Initially, police treated the case as a suspected suicide based on Prema's claim, but inconsistencies in her account and subsequent findings quickly pointed to foul play.
During the probe, officers found evidence suggesting that the inflammable liquid had been procured in advance, indicating possible premeditation. They also seized Prema's mobile phone, which allegedly contains a recording of the victim's final moments, adding a horrifying dimension to the crime.
During questioning, Prema initially claimed she was in the bathroom when she heard a loud noise. However, police said she changed her statements multiple times and later reportedly confessed to the act.
Police Statements and Ongoing Probe
A senior officer commented, "Prima facie, it appears the accused, under the guise of a romantic interlude, restrained the victim and set him on fire. Further investigation is on to uncover all aspects of this tragic case."
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Nagesh DL stated that investigators are still verifying the sequence of events, as the accused continues to give inconsistent statements. Police are also awaiting a formal complaint from the victim's family to proceed with legal formalities.
Kiran's body has been shifted to Victoria Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather forensic evidence. The case has highlighted the dark underbelly of relationship disputes turning violent, with authorities urging the public to report any suspicious activities.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of the potential dangers in interpersonal conflicts and the importance of vigilance in community safety. As the investigation continues, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the motives and circumstances behind this heartbreaking tragedy in Bengaluru.
