Bengaluru Woman Brutally Murdered by Family in Ramzan Money Dispute

In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 68-year-old woman was killed by her own family members following a violent dispute over money collected during the holy month of Ramzan. The tragic event unfolded in the Neelasandra area on Sunday, sending ripples through the local community.

Victim Identified as Shakira from RK Garden

The deceased, identified as Shakira, was a resident of RK Garden in Neelasandra. She was found dead with multiple severe injuries to her head, forehead, and legs, indicating a brutal assault. Police investigations revealed that the motive behind the murder was a financial quarrel.

According to authorities, Shakira used to beg for alms near Masjid-E-Umar Farooq in Neelasandra. On March 21, during Ramzan, she had collected a few thousand rupees from devotees visiting the mosque. This money became the center of a deadly family conflict.

Family Members Arrested for the Crime

Ashok Nagar police have arrested three accused individuals in connection with the murder: Mohammed Hussain, also known as Setuba, aged 22; his mother Reshma Banu; and his father Fayaz Ahmed. All three are currently in judicial custody, facing serious charges.

The incident came to light when Shakira's son, Imran, received a distressing call from a neighbor around 2 PM on Sunday, informing him that his mother had been killed. He immediately alerted the police, triggering a swift investigation.

Details of the Fatal Assault Emerge

Police reports indicate that around midnight on March 22, the accused trio—Fayaz (Shakira's son-in-law), Reshma (her daughter), and Hussain (her grandson)—visited Shakira's house and demanded the money she had collected. When she refused to hand it over, a heated argument erupted, quickly escalating into a physical attack.

During the assault, Hussain allegedly struck Shakira on the head with a brick, causing fatal injuries. The family members then fled the scene, leaving her lifeless body behind. The brutality of the attack has left the local residents in shock and disbelief.
