According to Devraj Rai, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Ara Town police station, the arrested individuals have been identified as Golu Paswan, son of Ramswaroop Paswan, and his wife. Both are residents of the Gausganj locality, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Town police station area. The couple was apprehended while allegedly smuggling the heroin.

The police have invoked the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the arrested individuals, and a named First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Ara Town police station to formalize the charges.
