In a shocking incident in Bhopal, a property broker and his brother were allegedly waylaid and robbed of cash worth Rs 55.05 lakh by unidentified miscreants at knifepoint. The brazen robbery occurred on the night of March 7 on Smart City Road in the Shyamla Hills area, sending ripples through the local community.

Details of the Nighttime Robbery

The victim, identified as Divyang Barot, a 25-year-old property broker residing in the Chunabhatti area, was returning with his brother on a scooter after collecting cash related to his work from the Old City area. At approximately 9:30 PM, as they traveled along Smart City Road, two scooters carrying unidentified individuals intercepted them.

Barot resisted when the assailants attempted to snatch the bag containing the substantial cash amount. In response, one of the miscreants brandished a knife, threatening Barot and forcing him to relinquish the bag. The robbers then swiftly fled the scene with the loot, leaving the brothers shaken but unharmed physically.

Police Response and Investigation

Acting on Barot's complaint, the Shyamla Hills police station registered a case against the unidentified accused on Sunday and immediately launched a comprehensive manhunt. Additional DCP (Zone-3) Shalini Dixit confirmed that investigations are actively underway.

Police teams have been deployed to scan the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the crime scene, hoping to identify the perpetrators and trace their movements. Despite an intensive search operation, the accused have not yet been apprehended.

To bolster the investigation, authorities have formed ten special teams dedicated to tracking the suspects and gathering intelligence on potential escape routes. Dixit added that some promising leads have emerged, and ongoing investigations are focused on leveraging these clues to locate and arrest the culprits.
