In a tragic late-night incident in Bhopal, a 24-year-old nursing student lost his life after being struck by an unidentified speeding car in a hit-and-run accident. The devastating event occurred in the Bairagarh area past midnight on Saturday, leaving the local community in shock.

Victim Identified as Akashdeep Singh from Bihar

The deceased has been identified as Akashdeep Singh, a 24-year-old native of Begusarai in Bihar who was residing on rent in Bhopal while pursuing his BSc Nursing course at a private college. According to Investigating Officer ASI Jagdish Parmar, Akashdeep had gone to the Halalpur Bus Stand with a friend simply to have tea when the tragedy unfolded.

Details of the Fatal Accident

The accident happened while Akashdeep was crossing a cut point and taking a turn on his bike. A speeding car coming from the Indore side rammed into his motorcycle with tremendous force. Construction work is currently underway at the location, which may have contributed to the hazardous conditions. The impact was severe, leaving Akashdeep with critical injuries.

Passersby immediately rushed to the scene and transported the injured student to a hospital in Bhainsakhedi, Khajuri. Despite their efforts and the medical team's attempts, doctors at the hospital declared him dead upon arrival. The unidentified car driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, leaving authorities to launch a search operation.

Friend Escapes Unharmed, Police Investigation Underway

In a fortunate turn amidst the tragedy, Akashdeep's friend, who was riding pillion on the bike, escaped completely unhurt. Police have registered a case and are actively investigating the hit-and-run. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the area and questioning witnesses to identify the vehicle and driver responsible for this fatal incident.

The Bairagarh police station has taken up the investigation, with ASI Jagdish Parmar leading the efforts to bring the perpetrator to justice. The community has expressed outrage over the incident, calling for better road safety measures and stricter enforcement against reckless driving, especially in areas with ongoing construction work.
