Bhopal: Govindpura police on Tuesday registered a case against two coaching operators from Indore for allegedly obstructing government work during a protest outside the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) office.
Protest Details
Police said around 100-150 candidates selected in the MP Teacher (Class-II) Recruitment Examination had gathered outside the DPI office on Tuesday demanding appointment orders. During the protest, coaching operators from Indore, identified as Dinesh and Rakesh, allegedly stood in front of DPI commissioner Abhishek Singh’s office and raised slogans.
Officials' Response
Officials claimed they were asked to move away from the office premises but refused. The commissioner reportedly offered to hold discussions with the protesters, but the duo continued their protest, insisting that candidates had not been given joining orders despite a long delay after selection.
Police said the demonstration disrupted functioning of nearby government offices and even forced a bank in the vicinity to temporarily shut operations. Following a complaint lodged by the DPI commissioner, Govindpura police registered a case against the two accused under provisions related to obstructing public servants from discharging official duties. Further investigation is underway.
