Bhopal Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sanskriti Jain stated on Friday that no decision has been made regarding the reopening of the Bhopal slaughterhouse, despite the Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissing a petition from M/s Live Stock Food Processors Ltd and directing the BMC to decide within 15 days.
Background of the Closure
The slaughterhouse located at Jinsi was sealed on December 8, 2025, following allegations by cow vigilantes who claimed to have found packets of 'banned' meat on the premises.
Current Status
Commissioner Jain emphasized that the civic body is yet to take a final call on the matter, even as the court has set a deadline for a decision. The uncertainty has left the facility's operations in limbo.
