Bhopal: Two Friends Injured in Sword Attack Near Depot Square

Bhopal: Two friends were allegedly attacked with swords by miscreants on a bike near Depot Square at Jawahar Chowk shortly after midnight on Wednesday. TT Nagar police have registered a case of attempt to commit culpable homicide against the accused and launched a search for them.

Details of the Incident

According to police, Deepak Raikwar and Anand Thakur, who are friends, were travelling together on a two-wheeler around 12:45 am when they reached Depot Square. At that moment, accused Anil Chandel and his associate, who arrived on a motorcycle, allegedly intercepted them.

Police said the accused first assaulted both friends and then attacked them with swords, leaving them seriously injured and bleeding on the road. After carrying out the assault, the accused fled from the spot.

Police Investigation

TT Nagar police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for attempt to commit culpable homicide. A search operation is underway to apprehend the accused, Anil Chandel and his unidentified associate. The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the accused and their motorcycle. Further investigation is ongoing.
