Bhopal Youth Faces Legal Action After Viral Car Roof Stunt Video
A shocking video that went viral on social media platforms on Friday has led to a police probe and an arrest in Bhopal. The footage shows a youth performing a highly dangerous stunt by climbing onto the roof of a moving car, with no one visible in the driver's seat during the incident.
Details of the Reckless Incident
The alarming event occurred near Ekant Park in the Char Imli area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Habibganj police station. According to authorities, the video was recorded on Thursday. In the clip, the youth is seen starting the car, setting it in motion, and then brazenly climbing onto the roof while the vehicle was still moving, posing a severe risk to public safety.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Taking immediate cognisance of the viral clip, traffic police traced the vehicle using its registration number and submitted a formal complaint to the Habibganj police station. Based on the registration details and thorough video verification, police identified and detained the accused, who is a resident of Bag Sewania. A case has been filed against him on charges of rash and dangerous driving under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
Background and Legal Proceedings
Police revealed that the accused is currently preparing for competitive examinations, specifically the NDA. He and his friends allegedly recorded the stunt video with the intention of sharing it on social media platforms. Since the sections invoked are bailable, he was arrested and later released on notice. An ongoing probe is being conducted to gather further details and ensure appropriate legal action.
