Bhopal Youth Critically Injured in Knife Attack by Neighbor

A 22-year-old youth was seriously injured on Tuesday morning after being attacked with a knife by a neighbor during a confrontation in Bhopal's Chhola area. The victim, identified as Deepak Pandey, remains in critical condition at a private hospital, according to police officials.

Details of the Violent Incident

The incident occurred around 10:30 am near Dussehra Maidan in the Chhola locality. Deepak Pandey, a resident of Navjeevan Colony near Timber Market who works at a local bangle shop, was walking to a nearby store to purchase gutkha when he was intercepted by his neighbor, Sanskar Pandey alias Naman.

The two individuals, who were familiar with each other from living in the same neighborhood, quickly engaged in a heated argument. The confrontation stemmed from a dispute that had occurred the previous day, during which Deepak had allegedly assaulted Sanskar.

Escalation to Violence

When Deepak protested during Tuesday's encounter, Sanskar allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked. Deepak attempted to defend himself by raising his hand, which resulted in serious injuries to that limb. Sanskar then proceeded to stab Deepak in the back with significant force.

The knife blade penetrated nearly four inches deep, causing substantial bleeding that left the victim in critical condition. Emergency services transported Deepak to a private hospital where he continues to receive medical treatment for his severe injuries.

Police Investigation Underway

Local police have launched a thorough investigation into the violent attack. Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the previous day's dispute that allegedly triggered Tuesday's violent confrontation.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about neighborhood conflicts escalating to violence in urban areas. Police officials have emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through proper channels rather than resorting to physical confrontation.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to gather witness statements and evidence from the scene of the attack in Chhola's Navjeevan Colony area.
