Bhubaneswar Gang of Juveniles Busted for Phone Thefts

Bhubaneswar police have successfully dismantled a gang of juveniles believed to be responsible for a series of mobile phone thefts across the city. In a coordinated operation, five minors were detained and a 19-year-old youth was arrested in connection with the crimes.

Details of the Thefts

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena, the gang targeted two mobile phone shops. The first break-in occurred in Mancheswar on April 21, followed by another in Laxmisagar on May 3. In both incidents, the thieves made off with a significant number of mobile phones and accessories.

Recovered Items

During the investigation, police recovered 24 mobile phones, six pairs of earbuds, a drone, and various other accessories. Additionally, two stolen motorcycles and house-breaking instruments were seized from the suspects. The recovered items are believed to be linked to multiple theft cases.

The arrests come as part of a broader crackdown on property crimes in the city. Police have urged shop owners to enhance security measures, especially during night hours.
