A minor dispute over a bidi escalated into a violent knife attack in Mandsaur's Daloda town on Saturday night, leaving a 23-year-old man injured. Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident.
Details of the Incident
The injured individual has been identified as Vijay Nath, a resident of Kumarwada. On Saturday night, he had gone to a tea stall located on Daloda Krishi Upaj Mandi Road. According to his family members, a man named Siraj approached him and asked for a bidi. When Vijay refused, a heated argument broke out between the two.
Escalation to Violence
The altercation quickly turned physical, and Siraj allegedly attacked Vijay with a knife, inflicting a deep wound on his hand. Bystanders intervened and immediately rushed Vijay to the Daloda police station. From there, he was referred to the district hospital for further medical treatment.
Family members reported that the knife caused a severe injury, requiring stitches and medical attention. The timely intervention of witnesses prevented the situation from worsening.
Police Action
Additional Superintendent of Police T S Baghel confirmed that Siraj has been taken into custody. Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the attack and are gathering evidence to build a case. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against the accused.
