Bihar STF Busts Police Exam Cheating Racket, Three Held

Patna: Following chaos at Patliputra Junction and complaints of technical glitches at several examination centers during the Bihar Police Prohibition Constable recruitment exam on Sunday, the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) and Bhagalpur police have dismantled a cheating racket that allegedly helped candidates clear the test illegally.

Joint Operation Leads to Arrests

In a coordinated effort, the STF and district police raided a location under the Barari police station area in Bhagalpur, apprehending three alleged members of the gang. The accused have been identified as Kundan Kumar alias Devmuni alias Dev Sir from Khagaria, Dev Kumar from Navgachhiya, and Dilip Kumar from Saharsa.

Electronic Devices Used for Cheating

According to STF officials, intelligence inputs indicated that an organized gang had collected substantial sums of money from candidates and planned to ensure their success through illegal means. The gang allegedly employed electronic devices to manipulate the recruitment test and facilitate cheating.

“Acting on the intelligence input, the STF and district police conducted the raid and arrested the three accused. During the operation, authorities recovered two laptops, a keyboard, mouse, laptop charger, printer, router, seven mobile printers, an iPad, a walkie-talkie, a Bluetooth device, ten debit cards, and five mobile phones. Additionally, several documents including admit cards, mark sheets, original certificates, and other examination-related materials were seized,” officials stated.

Investigation Underway

A case has been registered at Barari police station, and further investigation is in progress. The STF confirmed that raids are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the racket, while the criminal history of the arrested individuals is being verified.
