Bihar Transfers 5 IPS, 8 DSP Officials to Boost Law and Order

The Bihar home department on Wednesday carried out a major reshuffle, transferring five senior IPS officers and eight DSP-level officials, while assigning additional charges to several officers. The move aims to strengthen law and order, security, and policing in the state.

IPS Transfers

Sanjay Singh, a 1997-batch IPS officer, has been posted as additional director general (security). He will also hold the additional charge of ADG (budget, appeal & welfare). Aditya Kumar, a 2011-batch officer previously serving in the crime investigation department (CID), has been appointed commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-14 in Patna. He will also hold additional charge as superintendent of CID-3.

Anand Kumar, a DIG and 2012-batch IPS officer, has been made DIG (security). He will continue to hold the additional charge of DIG (law and order). A 2016-batch officer, Rajesh Kumar, has been transferred from SP of Naugachia to SP of cyber research & operations, Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Patna. Vaibhav Sharma, a 2018-batch officer previously holding charge of SP, cyber research & operations, EOU, has been posted as the new SP of Naugachia.

DSP-Level Transfers

Among DSP-level officials, Gaurav Kumar, earlier posted in Patna City, has been made DSP of Purnia Sadar. Anupesh Narayan, previously cyber crime DSP in Banka, has been appointed SDPO of Nirmali sub-division in Supaul. Vikas Kumar has been shifted from CID to DSP, Special Task Force (STF), Patna.

Gopal Krishna, earlier DSP in Jehanabad, has been made SDPO of Mohania in Kaimur district. Kaushal Kishore Kamal was removed from DSP (traffic), Purnia, and posted to CID, Patna. Ranjan Kumar Singh was shifted from CID, Patna, to DSP Traffic, Purnia. Suresh Prasad Ram was transferred from EOU to DSP, Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), Patna, and Krishna Kumar Gupta has been shifted from CID, Patna, to DSP of SVU, Patna.

These transfers are part of the state government's ongoing efforts to enhance police efficiency and ensure better law and order management across Bihar.
