Bijnor Doctor Murder: Three Arrested in Pre-Planned Killing Over Hospital Rivalry
In a shocking development in Bijnor's Nagina town, three individuals, including a doctor, have been arrested for the alleged murder of a paediatric doctor, Rajkumar, who was shot dead inside his chamber two days prior. The incident, which occurred on Thursday around 7 PM, has sent ripples through the local community, with police confirming the crime was meticulously pre-planned.
Background of the Dispute
According to SP (Bijnor) Abhishek Jha, the roots of the murder trace back to a professional partnership gone sour. Doctors Neeraj Kumar and Rajkumar had initially worked together at a hospital in Ghaziabad in 2018. In 2022, they jointly opened a hospital in the Nagina area, aiming to serve the local population. However, their collaboration soon turned contentious due to escalating financial disagreements and disputes over loan repayments.
In 2023, Rajkumar decided to break the partnership, and by January 2024, he had established his own hospital in the district. This move proved to be a turning point, as Rajkumar's new facility began attracting a significant number of patients, allegedly causing financial losses to the hospital run by Neeraj Kumar in Nagina.
The Murder Plot and Execution
Enraged by the financial downturn, Neeraj Kumar is believed to have orchestrated a sinister plan to eliminate his former partner. Police investigations reveal that he promised Vikas, a resident of Bijnor, a sum of Rs 10 lakh to carry out the murder. Vikas reportedly received an advance payment of Rs 2 lakh for the task.
The execution of the plan unfolded on Thursday evening when Rajkumar was seated in his cabin. A man, posing as a patient under the guise of showing a pathology report, entered the chamber and opened fire, killing the doctor on the spot. The brazen attack left the medical fraternity and locals in a state of shock.
Investigation and Arrests
Based on a complaint filed by Rajkumar's sister, an FIR was registered under the BNS section for murder against Vikas. As the investigation progressed, the police uncovered the shocking involvement of Dr. Neeraj Kumar and another individual, Aryan. All three were subsequently arrested on Saturday.
During the arrests, law enforcement officials recovered critical evidence, including a .315 bore country-made pistol, a .32 bore pistol, several cartridges, and Rs 2 lakh in cash. These findings have bolstered the case against the accused, highlighting the premeditated nature of the crime.
Community Impact and Police Statements
SP Abhishek Jha emphasized that the murder was a result of deep-seated financial envy and rivalry, rather than a random act of violence. He stated, "The new hospital started by Rajkumar began drawing more patients, which allegedly led to financial losses for Neeraj's hospital. This fueled the plot to murder Rajkumar."
The arrest of a fellow doctor has added a layer of complexity to the case, raising concerns about professional ethics and competition within the healthcare sector. The local community has expressed outrage over the incident, calling for stricter measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
As the investigation continues, authorities are focusing on gathering further evidence to ensure a strong legal case. The recovery of weapons and cash has provided tangible proof of the conspiracy, underscoring the meticulous planning involved in this heinous act.
