Trichy: In a brazen daylight robbery, two unidentified bike-borne assailants snatched a five-sovereign gold chain from a 51-year-old woman in the Thiruvanaikoil area of Trichy city on Wednesday. The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality, prompting a police investigation.

The victim has been identified as K Ambika, a resident of Keela Kondayampettai near Thiruvanaikoil. On Wednesday morning, she was walking to a shop located near Vinayagar Kovil when the duo approached her from behind on a motorcycle. In a swift move, they snatched her five-sovereign gold thali chain and sped away from the scene.
