In a distressing incident in Dhar district, an unidentified biker assaulted a 26-year-old woman and snatched her bag near Bamanpuri village on the Khalghat-Dharmpuri road on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, identified as Tayyaba Bee, a resident of Jhirniya village in Khargone, was on her way to Dharampuri for Eid shopping when the attack occurred.

Details of the Assault

According to the statement provided by Tayyaba Bee to the police, she was waiting for public transport in Khalghat when a biker approached her and offered her a lift. She accepted the offer, but after traveling a few kilometres, the biker stopped the bike and attempted to snatch her bag. When she resisted, the assailant hit her on the head with a large stone, causing her injury, and fled with the bag, which contained approximately Rs 2000.

Police Response and Investigation

Sub-inspector Vijay Wasklale from the Dhamnod police station confirmed the incident and stated that a case has been registered against the accused. The police have launched a search operation to apprehend the biker. After the assault, some passersby took Tayyaba Bee to the Dhamnod community health centre, from where she was referred to the district hospital for further medical treatment. Her condition is reported to be stable, but the incident has raised concerns about safety in the area.
