Panchkula: A motorcyclist was fined Rs 32,500 after being caught riding dangerously without a number plate near the MDC traffic lights. The incident took place on Wednesday when Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime and traffic) Amrinder Singh spotted the reckless driving while passing through the area in an official vehicle.

DCP Intervenes

DCP Amrinder Singh immediately directed traffic personnel to stop the motorcycle and conduct a thorough inspection. Upon checking, the rider was found to be without a valid driving licence, registration certificate, insurance, or pollution under control (PUC) certificate. The vehicle also lacked a number plate and had allegedly jumped traffic signals.

Multiple Violations

Police issued a cumulative challan covering several violations, including dangerous driving, signal jumping, and absence of mandatory documents. The motorcycle was impounded and taken to the MDC police station for further action.

Strict Enforcement for Road Safety

DCP Amrinder Singh emphasized that strict enforcement is essential for ensuring road safety. He warned that vehicles without proper documents and number plates could be misused for criminal activities. The fine of Rs 32,500 serves as a deterrent against such negligence.
