High-Speed Maneuver Leads to Serious Crash on Busy Gurgaon Expressway
A motorcyclist sustained injuries on Sunday morning after a high-speed crash on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, commonly known as NH-8. The incident occurred near the Ambience Mall in the DLF Phase 3 area. According to police, the accident was a direct result of overspeeding and an unsafe attempt to overtake other vehicles.
Helmet Camera Captures the Terrifying Moment
The entire sequence was recorded on the helmet-mounted camera of another biker who was nearby. The viral video shows a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle moving at an extremely high rate of speed just moments before the rider loses control. During the reckless overtaking maneuver, the biker was flung onto the road surface, rolling multiple times upon impact. The powerful motorcycle skidded for a considerable distance after the crash.
The graphic footage quickly spread across various social media platforms, sparking intense discussions and criticism regarding rash riding and frequent traffic violations on this perpetually busy stretch of road in Gurgaon.
Police Response and Rider's Admission of Fault
A police team rushed to the accident spot following the incident. The injured rider was promptly shifted to Narayana Superspeciality Hospital for medical treatment, where he is currently undergoing care.
In a significant development, the police confirmed that no formal case has been registered. The reason, as stated by the Station House Officer (SHO) of DLF Phase 3 police station, is that the injured biker refused to file a complaint. The officer clarified that the rider himself admitted to the violations of overspeeding and attempting to overtake from the incorrect side.
"Since the rider acknowledged the violation, he did not lodge any complaint. The incident was clearly captured on video," the SHO said.
Police added that while the Swift car involved in the incident has been traced and its driver identified, preliminary findings squarely point to the biker's fault. The dangerous driving actions led directly to the loss of control and the subsequent crash.
