A birthday celebration at a bar in Sushant Golf City, Lucknow, descended into chaos after a man allegedly fired a shot in the air outside the venue and fled in his SUV early on Saturday, police said.
Incident Details
According to police, Saurabh Singh Chauhan, a resident of Mohanlalganj, arrived at the bar near Millennium City with three friends to celebrate a birthday. He allegedly attempted to climb onto a console to dance despite repeated warnings from bouncers. The confrontation escalated into a heated argument, following which the group was asked to leave.
“As they stepped out, Chauhan allegedly pulled out a firearm from his black SUV and fired a round in the air before speeding away,” said ADCP (South Zone) Vasanth Kumar Rallapalli.
Panic and Injuries
The gunshot triggered panic among patrons, though no injuries were reported. Some bouncers sustained minor injuries in the scuffle. Police detained three of Chauhan’s associates—Sudhanshu Yadav, Aman Yadav, and Vinayak Yadav—for questioning.
Investigation Underway
An FIR has been lodged, and teams are analyzing CCTV footage to trace Chauhan and establish the sequence of events.
