In a shocking incident in the Haibowal area of Ludhiana, unidentified miscreants set a businessman's vehicle on fire late Tuesday night. The victim, identified as Rajesh Kumar, a local trader, had parked his SUV outside his residence when the attackers struck.

Incident Details

According to police reports, around 11:30 PM, two men on a motorcycle approached the parked vehicle, poured petrol on it, and set it ablaze before fleeing the scene. The fire was noticed by neighbors who alerted the fire department. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames, but the vehicle was completely gutted.

Police Investigation

Senior police officials, including the station house officer of Haibowal police station, visited the site and collected evidence. Preliminary investigations suggest that the attack may be linked to a business rivalry. Rajesh Kumar told the police that he had recently received threats from some unidentified persons over a property dispute.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and efforts are on to identify the culprits. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is being examined.
