A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader died in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district after his licensed firearm accidentally discharged, police said on Sunday.

The incident took place on Saturday evening when the victim, identified as a local BJP functionary, was at his residence. According to preliminary reports, the licensed revolver went off unexpectedly, striking the leader and causing fatal injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
