Patna: In a shocking incident of road rage in Nawada district, Kundan Kumar (29), nephew of BJP MLA Anil Singh from Hisua, was allegedly assaulted and robbed of his gold ornaments late Thursday night. He is currently admitted to Nawada Sadar Hospital with serious injuries.
Incident Details
The incident began when Kundan's elder brother, Chandan Kumar, was returning home on a tractor. An SUV behind him demanded the right of way, but due to narrow roads, Chandan could not give way. Enraged, the SUV occupants stopped near Gangta Musahri and started abusing Chandan, who then reached his home in Fulma village. The SUV occupants followed him and continued their verbal abuse. Kundan intervened and managed to calm the situation temporarily.
The Assault
Later, while Kundan was heading to his sister's house in Sakarpura Derma village on a motorcycle, the SUV occupants allegedly called 10-15 more people. They chased Kundan and intercepted him near Jasauli railway crossing, where they assaulted him with belts, sticks, and iron rods. Kundan suffered a severe head injury and internal injuries to his stomach and leg.
Robbery and Police Action
The assailants allegedly snatched a gold chain, a gold bracelet, and four gold rings from Kundan before fleeing towards Khanpur village. They left him near a school. Nemdarganj SHO Ranjeet Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been registered at Nemdarganj police station against 12 unidentified individuals. The victim provided the SUV's registration number in his complaint, and police are using it to identify the attackers.
