Body Found in Kochi Canal, Another Man Dead

Kochi: The body of a man was discovered floating in the Chambakara canal on Tuesday morning, with police yet to identify the deceased. According to officials, passersby spotted the body around 6:20 am in the Thaikudam region and alerted the authorities. The body was retrieved, and police completed inquest proceedings before moving it to a hospital for an autopsy.

Details of the Deceased

The individual was found wearing a black t-shirt and black tracksuit, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old. Police suspect that the man died at least three days ago, as the body had begun to decompose. The Maradu police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation.

Second Incident in Ernakulam

In a separate incident, the Ernakulam North police registered a case of unnatural death after a man was found dead on Tuesday. The body of Ramakrishna Pilawi, a native of Nepal, was discovered next to the bathroom of a shop along St Vincent Road around 10:30 am. Following inquest proceedings, the body was moved to a hospital for an autopsy. Investigations are ongoing in both cases.
