Bokaro: In a major law enforcement operation, police arrested 28 accused during a district-wide overnight crackdown and subsequently sent them to judicial custody. The special drive was launched on Sunday night, targeting individuals evading legal action across the region.
Operation Details
Superintendent of Police Nathu Ram Meena stated, “Teams were formed across the district to prevent criminal activities and execute pending warrants. Simultaneous raids were carried out in 18 police station and outpost areas, leading to the arrest of individuals who had been evading legal action.” The coordinated effort aimed to strengthen law and order by apprehending fugitives and those with outstanding warrants.
Key Arrests
The operation's biggest success was the arrest of Shambhu Kumar, an accused in an Arms Act case who had been absconding since 2024. A resident of Bansidih village under Chas police station limits, Kumar had remained on the run for nearly two years before being traced and arrested during the crackdown.
Station-Wise Breakdown
Among the police stations, City, Marafari, and Peterwar recorded the highest number of arrests with three each. Harla, Jaridih, Chatrochatti, and Chandrapura police stations arrested two accused each. The remaining arrests were made by Chas, Pindrajora, Chira Chas, Chandankiyari, Balidih, Gomia, Nawadih, and several police outposts, demonstrating the widespread nature of the operation.
Future Plans
Police officials confirmed that such coordinated drives would continue to ensure the execution of pending warrants and further strengthen law and order across the district. The operation underscores the commitment of Bokaro police to maintaining public safety and cracking down on criminal elements.
