Bombay High Court Orders Major Transfers of Principal District Judges
The Bombay High Court has issued a significant administrative order, transferring and appointing Principal District and Sessions Judges across various districts in Maharashtra. The notification, released by Registrar General Swapnil Khati, details the reshuffle aimed at administrative efficiency.
Key Transfers Announced
According to the official order, Dinesh Surana, who was serving as the Principal District and Sessions Judge in Nagpur, has been transferred to Beed. Replacing him in Nagpur is SC Munghate, who previously held the same position in Yavatmal. This move is part of a broader reallocation of judicial officers across the state.
In another notable transfer, SS Bhishma, the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Chandrapur, has been moved to Dhule. Meanwhile, AL Yawalkar, who was serving in Beed, has been appointed to Yavatmal, taking over the position vacated by Munghate. Additionally, MA Anand from Dhule has been posted to Bhandara, completing the chain of appointments.
Administrative Rationale
The transfers are part of routine administrative adjustments carried out by the High Court to ensure effective judicial administration and to provide officers with diverse experience across different districts. Such reshuffles are common in the judiciary to address vacancies, performance considerations, and career progression.
The notification, issued by the High Court Registrar General, has been circulated to all concerned departments for implementation. The affected judges are expected to assume their new positions shortly.
