A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized on Friday after suffering an electric shock at his residence in Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram. The incident took place at the home of Ramya in Manchavilakam, where she lives with her two children.
Details of the Incident
According to preliminary information, an unidentified individual allegedly connected a wire from the electricity meter to the handle of the front door in what appears to be an attempt to electrocute the family. The incident came to light on Friday morning when Ramya's son, Alan, received an electric shock while opening the front door and collapsed.
Family members and local residents later discovered that a wire from the electricity meter had been wrapped around the front door handle. Locals immediately informed the police and rushed the child to Neyyattinkara General Hospital. Hospital sources confirmed that Alan's condition is stable.
Police Investigation Underway
Following the incident, the electricity supply to the house was disconnected to prevent further danger. Marayamuttam police arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. A probe has been launched to investigate the matter. Authorities are yet to ascertain the motive behind the alleged attempt to harm the family.
