Minor Boy Trapped in Clinic Shutter Gap During Alleged Theft Attempt in Indirapuram
A dramatic rescue operation unfolded in Ghaziabad's Indirapuram area on Saturday after a minor boy became critically trapped in a narrow gap between a shutter and a wall while allegedly attempting theft at a local clinic. The incident triggered a multi-hour emergency response involving police and fire department officials.
Discovery of the Trapped Boy
The situation came to light around 11 am when staff members arrived at the clinic located in the Abhay Khand locality under Indirapuram police station limits. The clinic belongs to Delhi-based cardiologist Dr. Pawan Sharma, who visits the facility only two or three times weekly, leaving the premises closed on other days.
Upon attempting to lift the shutter after unlocking it, staff members found it unusually jammed. As they tried to force it open, they heard faint groaning sounds from inside. Initially suspecting an animal might be trapped, they alerted nearby practitioner Dr. Namit and immediately informed police authorities.
Critical Rescue Operation
Dr. Sharma was called to the scene and arrived shortly afterward. When staff accessed the clinic from the rear entrance, they were shocked to discover a minor boy stuck in a precarious position. His torso was inside the clinic while his head was tightly wedged between the shutter and adjacent wall, leaving him completely immobilized.
Video footage from the scene showed the boy in this critical trapped state. When initial rescue attempts by clinic staff and police failed, the fire department was summoned for specialized assistance. Firefighters reached the location around 1:15 pm and conducted a careful rescue operation using specialized tools.
Rescue personnel were seen attempting to lift and adjust the shutter while working to safely extricate the boy from the extremely tight space. After considerable effort, they successfully freed him from his dangerous predicament.
Injuries and Investigation
The minor sustained significant injuries during the ordeal, including substantial scraping on one side of his face. He was immediately administered first aid at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention. Officials confirmed his condition has since stabilized.
Preliminary police investigation suggests the boy may have attempted to break into the clinic during nighttime hours and became trapped in the process. Officers are continuing their inquiry to determine the exact sequence of events and circumstances surrounding the incident.
The clinic's unusual operating schedule - being open only when Dr. Sharma visits twice or thrice weekly - appears to have created conditions that may have attracted the alleged theft attempt. Police are examining all aspects of the case while the boy receives medical treatment for his injuries.
