Hyderabad Advocate Murdered in Brutal Land Dispute, Brother Among Four Arrested
In a shocking incident near Moinabad, Hyderabad, 34-year-old woman advocate G Swapna Kumari was brutally murdered on Wednesday. The police have swiftly arrested four persons in connection with the crime, including the victim's own elder brother, G Raju. The arrests were made hours after the tragic event at Kethyreddypally.
Land Dispute Cited as Primary Motive for the Heinous Crime
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Yogesh Gautam of Chevella, the murder was driven by a bitter dispute over the sharing of a four-acre ancestral agricultural land in Kethyreddypally. The market value of this prime property is estimated to be between 2 crore and 3 crore rupees, highlighting the high stakes involved.
The police investigation revealed that the main accused, Raju, allegedly offered half an acre each to two of his co-accused as an incentive for helping him eliminate his sister. This premeditated plan underscores the calculated nature of the crime.
Graphic Details of the Attack Emerge from Police Accounts
The murder unfolded around 10 am when Swapna visited the disputed land with her mother, Venkatamma, and a surveyor to conduct a survey. Raju and the three other accused arrived at the scene in an Innova vehicle and a scooter.
"Raju came in an Innova and rammed into his sister, who was standing by the road. As she fell next to the road, Raju attacked her with a stone. Veeresh, who reached the location with the other two accused on a two-wheeler, attacked her with a sickle," DCP Yogesh Gautam stated.
After the vicious attack, the accused fled the scene using the two vehicles. Swapna was declared brought dead upon arrival at a hospital in Moinabad. The police have seized the stone and the sickle used in the murder as crucial evidence.
Evidence Points to Premeditation and Financial Incentives
Further investigation revealed that the sickle was purchased by Veeresh and Shiva at a shop in Moinabad on Wednesday morning, clearly indicating that the murder was premeditated. During interrogation, the accused provided chilling confessions.
- Shiva confessed that he was promised 10,000 rupees by the other accused for aiding in the murder.
- Sandeep admitted that Raju had promised to give half an acre each to him and Veeresh for their assistance in eliminating Swapna.
Police to Re-examine Previous Attempts on the Victim's Life
Prior to her death, Swapna had filed two separate road accident complaints with Chevella and Moinabad police in November 2025 and January 2026. In these incidents, unknown accused had rammed into her two-wheeler with a car and a bulldozer, respectively.
During the investigations, Swapna had alleged that her brother could be behind both attempts on her life. A senior police officer noted that while Raju's involvement was not initially found in those cases, they will now verify if Veeresh and Sandeep, who played key roles in the murder, were linked to the earlier accidents.
The arrested individuals include G Raju, his close associate V Veeresh, and Veeresh's friends E Sandeep and K Shiva Lingam from Moinabad. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover all facets of this tragic case, which has sent shockwaves through the community.
