JAMMU: A BSF assistant sub-inspector (ASI) allegedly shot himself dead at his camp in Jammu on Sunday, just a day after resuming duty following a month-long leave.

ASI Lal Singh, 54, a native of Madhya Pradesh, was discovered in a pool of blood at his camp. Senior BSF and police officials promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving the report.

An official stated, “ASI Lal Singh (54), from Madhya Pradesh, was found in a pool of blood... Senior BSF and police officials rushed to the scene... An inquest has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances behind his taking such an extreme step.”
