A burglar allegedly broke into a liquor shop in Kokta under Bilkhiria police station limits and decamped with Rs 50,000 in cash and two cartons of beer in the early hours of Saturday, despite five employees being present on the premises.
Incident Details
Police said the man entered the liquor shop located in Transport Nagar around 2am after removing a tin sheet from the structure. Three watchmen were reportedly sitting near the spot where the intruder entered, but none noticed the break-in.
Investigation
CCTV footage showed the accused with his face covered and wearing a cap. A case was registered by cops.
Interestingly, the accused did not touch several expensive liquor bottles kept inside the shop, some valued at up to Rs 5,000 each, and instead targeted only the cash and beer cartons.
