Lucknow: In a bizarre incident, burglars broke into an advocate's house in Bijnor and decamped with jewellery worth approximately Rs 10 lakh, along with cash and electronic items. The thieves reportedly gulped down beer and munched on snacks before fleeing the scene.
Details of the Theft
The incident occurred in Subhash Nagar of New Rahimabad under the Bijnor police station limits. The complainant, Shalini Srivastava, stated that she, along with her husband who serves as a CRPF personnel, and other family members, had traveled to Lakhimpur on May 30.
According to the complaint, the accused broke open the main gate around midnight on May 31. They ransacked the house and made off with gold and silver jewellery, Rs 20,000 in cash, a smart TV, and a set-top box. Before leaving, the intruders allegedly consumed beer, cold drinks, and packaged snacks that were stored in the house.
Discovery of the Burglary
On June 1, a neighbor noticed the broken locks and promptly informed the homeowners about the incident. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The audacity of the thieves, who took time to enjoy refreshments, has shocked the local community.
