The bus was carrying a total of 45 devotees who were returning to Orai in Jalaun after offering prayers at Barsana in Mathura. According to Etawah SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, the accident occurred due to the thick fog conditions prevalent near Malajani village. The vehicle lost control in the poor visibility, leading to it overturning on the highway.

Among the injured, eight people sustained minor injuries, while two were reported to be seriously hurt. All the affected individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at a community health centre located in Jaswantnagar.
