A businessman in Mohali has alleged that he was abducted, assaulted, and robbed of cash and valuables worth several lakhs following a road accident in Zirakpur. Based on his complaint, police have registered a case against the driver of a Baleno car and three unidentified accomplices. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused.
Incident Details
Rahul Pal (31), a resident of Trishla City and a businessman on VIP Road, told police that he was on his way to office around 11:30 am on June 6 when a speeding blue Baleno rammed his vehicle near Maya Garden. He alleged that four men got out of the car, forced him into their vehicle, assaulted him, and snatched his belongings. The stolen items included a mobile phone, laptop, handbag, approximately ₹45,000 in cash, two gold rings, a bracelet, and a gold coin.
Threats and Abandonment
The victim further alleged that he was threatened with harm before being driven around various parts of Zirakpur. The accused later abandoned him by the roadside and fled the scene. Pal contacted a friend, who took him to Civil Hospital, Dhakoli, for treatment of his injuries.
Police Investigation
Investigating officer ASI Satinder Singh said that CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the accused and establish the sequence of events. Further action will be taken based on the evidence collected.
